Members of the Lake Margaret Community own and operate a water system, swimming lots, the dam which contains the lake and the tower and outflows which pass the lake water downstream to Cherry Creek. This is accomplished through the management oversight of the Lake Margaret Community Purposes Club (LMCPC) Board.
The Board consists of nine (9) members, but can be run with as few as five (5) per our Bylaws. The Board is elected at the June Annual Meeting by a popular vote of the community. Each term is a three (3) year term unless a vacancy dictates a shorter term.
The Board elects officers (President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer) of the corporation annually after the Annual Meeting. The Board may fill a vacated seat by appointment at any time when a vacancy occurs. You must be a property owner and be a member in good standing to run for office or vote. (See the Bylaws for more information).
The LMCPC maintains this beautiful lake to provide a protected community environment we can all enjoy. Whether you own lake front or back lot property, are a permanent, part-time or tenant resident, are single or have a family, we all have an interest in working together to insure the continued success of Lake Margaret. We need the help of each member.
We encourage you to become involved in our activities in some way. Perhaps you might have the time and tools to help with a work party. The way in which you participate and the amount of time you invest is not as important as your continued interest in the welfare of our community.
Please come to a Board Meeting.
The Board’s work is ongoing and we want to hear your views. If you wish to address the Board on this issue, please contact a Board Member to get on the agenda. We review our policies and procedures on a regular basis. Your input is necessary if we are to serve all of our community.
Board Meetings are held seven times per year. The time, date and locations of the meetings are published in the Newsletter, posted on both the website and the entrance sign of the Lake. Our Annual Meeting is held the first Saturday in June. Your attendance is very important for making and approving decisions for our community.
The property, structures and systems owned by the LMCPC belong to all of us. They are for the exclusive use of members and their accompanied guests.
Our community swim lots close at dusk. Please respect this rule out of courtesy to neighboring properties.
No lifeguard is on duty. During the summer months, the LMCPC hires an off-duty King County Deputy to patrol the lake lots to ensure no trespassers are using our community lots. Guests must be accompanied by an LMCPC member when using the swim lots.
